Ruth's PlaqueOutgoing president, Ruth Kraft, was presented with a plaque in recognition of her many years of service to NYSALJA. The presentation was made by Anne Murphy, as Past-President (2005-2006), standing in for Immediate Past-President James McClymonds, who was unable to attend the meeting.

In addition to the plaque, Judge McClymonds proposed a resolution, which the Executive Committee unanimously adopted, recognizing Judge Kraft’s accomplishments to the association.

It must also be noted that Deborah Richards is stepping down from the board. In moving from the Hearing Administration and Matrimonial Bureau of the NYS Comptroller’s Office to its Division of Diversity Programs, she decided is was time to move off the Executive Committee. Judge Richards served on the Executive Committee from 2010-2012 and as Vice President for two terms, from 2012 to 2013 and from 2013 to 2014. During her time on the board she made numerous contributions to NYSALJA, including her involvement in our presentation to a delegation from China’s Supreme People’s Procuratorate at NYU’s Law School in 2012, and her securing our latest office space at the SUNY Albany Downtown Campus for our quarterly joint Albany-NYC meetings.
