Edward R. Mevec

I would like to thank the members and Executive Board of the New York State Administrative Law Judge’s Association for placing their trust by electing me as the association’s new president. I would especially like to thank our immediate past president Eric Zaidins for his leadership.

This is an exciting time for our association. Not only are we celebrating our 40th anniversary, we have been approved by NAALJ to host the 2017 Annual NAALJ Conference at Fordham Law School in New York City during Columbus Day Weekend. We look forward to presenting a fabulous CLE program for the membership.

We would like to invite all of our members to help make this a great conference. Please contact Judge Cathy Bennett of Judge Ray Kramer or myself to get involved. Many hands make light work!

We encourage you to take advantage of the many benefits of membership which includes: Free CLE programs, NYSALJA’s online ethics CLE; through our affiliation with OATH’s administrative justice institute CLE programs offered in New York City and webcast to Albany; our members may enroll as PLI Pro Bono Privileged Members receiving free access to all PLI programs; networking with other ALJ’s and hearing officers at our meetings; an online subscription to the Journal of the Administrative Law Judiciary; and opportunities to attend NAALJ conferences with the possibility of winning a NAALJ/NYSALJA Challenge Grant to defray costs.

Above all, we want you to be involved. If you have any ideas or concerns please let me know. We want to hear from you!

Sincerely,

Edward R. Mevec
President
