Welcome to all members—old, new, and prospective—to NYSALJA!! Our organization, an affiliate of the National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary, continues to set new benchmarks for excellence in the profession. We can proudly boast that New York stands second to none in producing leadership at the national level. I have the great honor and privilege of following many outstanding judges, including immediate Past President James McClymonds, into the presidency and am incredibly grateful for the wisdom of his predecessors, who have nurtured NYSALJA and guided us to this point.
NYSALJA is particularly relevant to the members of the administrative law judiciary at this time. All of us understand the importance of numbers, whether it be in cases adjudicated and closed or in the strength of an organization. Particularly in these economic times, the solidarity of membership is of great importance. The strength of NYSALJA lies not only in its dedicated leadership but in the vitality with which it can serve as a strong voice in the administrative law world. We have accomplished much and must continue to grow both in purpose and in involvement.
Our extraordinary Executive Board welcomes your participation. By joining or renewing, you are making an important statement of purpose with respect to excellence in the administrative law judiciary. NYSALJA is committed to providing educational opportunities to enrich your adjudicatory skills and share concerns with other judges and hearing officers. Through affiliations with OATH and Pace University Law School, we offer exciting programming. Between meetings, our website offers tips and solutions to make you a better and more technologically adept judge. We hope to expand our educational programs and make much more content accessible to members on-line in the coming year.
Dialogue with other members of the profession in an environment which encourages camaraderie and sharing of perspectives, a law journal devoted to administrative law, continuing legal education at low or no cost—are all available to you as members of NYSALJA.
