The first amendment does not protect a lawyer’s criticism of administrative law judges when that criticism presents a serious and imminent threat to the fairness and integrity of the judicial system. That was the holding of The West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals in Lawyer Disciplinary Board v. Hall (October 23, 2014).
