Judicial EthicsThe New York State Administrative Law Judges Association (NYSALJA), together with The Administrative Judicial Institute, is pleased to invite you and your fellow administrative law judges to attend a jointly-sponsored CLE-accredited Judicial Ethics Seminar presented by The  Hon. George Marlow, Chair of the New York State Advisory Committee on Judicial Ethics, and Deborah Scalise, Esq., partner in the firm of Scalise & Hamilton, LLP. which specializes in the representation of professionals in professional responsibility and ethics matters.  Judge Marlow and Ms. Scalise will provide an engaging overview of judicial ethics with a focus on key and topical ethical questions that judges often confront.  The presentation will address issues involving the appearance of impropriety, disqualification, disciplinary responsibilities, extra-judicial activities and others.  While the focus is on the rules for State Court judges, there is considerable overlap with the ethical rules applicable to administrative law judges.

The program will be held next Tuesday evening, June 25, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH) in Courtroom E on the 6th floor and will provide 2.0 CLE credits in ethics and professionalism (transitional and non-transitional).  Please share this announcement with your legal staff and fellow judges.
