The Administrative Judicial Institute is pleased to invite you and your fellow administrative law judges and hearing officers to attend a three-hour CLE program entitled Judicial Opinion Writing for New York City and State Administrative Law Judges presented by the Hon. Gerald Lebovits, a New York City Civil Court Judge and member of the Institute faculty.  Back by popular demand, Judge Lebovits, a renowned lecturer and author on the subject of judicial writing, will review the elements, skills and techniques that administrative law judges may use to create clear, concise, understandable and persuasive written decisions.

The program will be held on Wednesday evening, July 17, 2013, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The program will be held at the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH) in Courtroom E on the 6th floor and will provide 3.0 CLE credits.  Please share this announcement with your legal staff and fellow judges.  For course registration and description, go to the Programs and Curriculum link on the Institute website: http://www.nyc.gov/html/oath/html/aji/programs.shtml

Please note that this is a repeat presentation.  Attendance at this program, or at Judge Lebovits’s previous presentation on Judicial Writing last October, is a prerequisite for anyone interested in taking his advanced small-group decision writing seminar which will be offered in the fall.
